The body of the bottom fly reminds me a lot of the markings on a golden pheasant tail. Great looking flies, Jon! The cinnamon heads are a classy touch.

CB, Howdy;
The second one really looks like an ear of Indian Corn, lots of yellow kernals, a few red kernals,
and clumps of black kernals scattered all over the place...
Both are great tyes, second lives up to the name better.
Just my opinion...

Great series. You are definitely flirting with the art end of the spectrum. The colors are really rich. I also like the elongated thorax for the hook length. This is very cool.

That fly is named aptly alright. I love the name, and I love that fly. What's NOT TO LIKE about it? Outstanding job.
