With the first taste of warmth in months, the olives of Spring won't be far behind.
Leisenring's Blue Dun Hackle works well in my neighborhood ...
Silk: Primrose yellow
Hackle: Light blue-dun hen
Tail: Blue-dun hen
Rib: Very narrow flat gold tinsel
Body: Mole fur spun on primrose-yellow silk, a little of the silk exposed at the tail

Sizes #16 - #20 are best on my home waters. Larger in the early spring; smaller in the middle spring. The hook above is probably a #15, but with a fairly short shank length. Fall olives are much smaller.
Here's another fly that works well for Spring olives (maybe even better than the Blue Dun Hackle).

Phil, these are exceptional. The visibility of the under body and the sparse dubbing is really nice. Nice surprised at all that you have a good time with them on your water.
There are several threads in the dressing section related to the Skues nymphs and a swap dedicated to these little flies. You might be interested. If I were on my machine I would post the links.
