Thanks guys :D

Tie2fish -
Your size 18-20# spring creek specials sound wicked, I'd love to see some if you get a chance. You say my fly looks more graceful (Doubtful, I've seen your ties), bearing in mind that mine are tied on a hook size 4X bigger than your 20's. Micro soft hackles sound like a great idea, the smallest I've tied are 18's...

It's good to hear from you, I haven't seen you for a while. I hope your keeping well and getting some time behind the vise and on the water? :D

i've done it........BIG FUN.........a dry fly is the ONLY "indicator" i'll use.....and i almost never nymph........but hangin' a softie below a dry fly is BOSS Baby. i suggest you make the length of your droper at least 13 inches, and don't fish in water much deeper than bout 2/2 & a half feet.....and make that somewhat broken water at that. Take that Green Drake i did for that last swap we had.....and hang it below a Green Drake Dun mid-day, along the edge of a silty eddie with a foam line, where there's just enough current bank side. :D

OK the fly is sick. The quill dope. Hackles...bomb. What a fly!!! I use peacock quill often but never with such stunning results. My question to everyone. How the hell do you get these photo shots?

Heya Fflutterffly,

Thanks for the kind comments. Regarding the photography there's a cheap, fast easy way you can achieve even better results with.
I put a post up on the subject: http://flymphforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2529
