Hook: Mustad 3366 #16
Thread: claret
Tail: 3 soft white hen fibers
Abdomen: mole lightly dubbed on thread
Thorax: purple worsted
Hackle: medium dun hen
This is a slight variation from Lawrie's pattern.

Thanks Otter. It's wool. If I am not mistaken worsted refers to wool that has been combed out to remove any of the fine, brittle, broken pieces before being used for spinning.

Now I just love this fly.
Last week I took a few fish with a slim dressed fly like this on the point while fishing two spiders on droppers. I am going to tie a few of these.

I'm a great Iron Blue fan too and I like your pattern very much.
