Sunflower PMD Flymph

An experiment dyeing some fox fur with a small Bouquet of Sunflowers. The dubbing came out just a pale yellow. I don't know if more petals would have made a difference. ;)

The pattern will be a keeper for me to test next year along with my other PMDs. After tying about a dozen I dunked one in water and in true Flymph fashion the greenish Yellow Olive thread under color came through nicely in the dubbing when I looked at it closely with a 16X Doublet Jewlers Loupe.

This fly was in response to this interesting troutnut discussion about some members of the PMDs and PEDs....

Bill - Thank you for posting this pattern and the link discussing the PMD coloration. Sounds like when wet, you've nailed the coloration. Wonderful... ;)
