Black Krystal Flash & Starling

A little all black mayfly landed on my hand in midstream on the Crooked River earlier this week as I was changing flies.
An all-black soft hackle caught the next fish, but I didn't have time to tie up a newer version that night. The next night was a tying session at the Fin & Fire that ronr invited me to attend. I had gone swimming in the Crooked that afternoon
due to some moss-covered and rolling rocks and Ron had provided a helping hand.
He also turned me on last year to the No Body Caenis that was the hot fly on the river again the day before.

As I sat around at the tying session, I also pondered my new black Mayfly...
that I am tying today.

A little smaller version might also work when the CR little black caddis is emerging.
