As many of you chaps know Philip Bailey and I are in the process of writing a book on the history,tying and fishing of traditional "North Country" flies. We hopefully in the next couple of months or so we should have the finishing touches to the chapter done. So I though I would whet your appetites with a few of my dressings which will be in the book. Offhand I think there will be about 25 to 30 patterns photographed in the book, so you will not have heard of and some that will be familiar. I am working on manuscripts of flies that you will certainly have never heard off and these will be in print for the first time. I have found many holes in Les Magee's book and so I will be putting these straight.

Does this mean I have two worthless books???

There's no such thing as a worthless book, although with Stewart I could make an exception
Les Magee's book is a classic, and I know Les and have talked to him over the years as we are in the same fishing club, but unfortunately there are several mistakes in his book which do need correction. He has also missed out several important references, as well as people. Of course older manuscripts have come to light since Les did his book so it is only fitting that we include these.

I again offer my services (offered to Philip in his posting), as a 'Test Case/Subject' to see how understandable it would be to a compleate Newbee to flyfishing and tying.
Would be glad to attempt to follow the directions within and relay my results as necessary
Think about it, we are after all seperated by a common language, and I do have a difficult time following written directions.
I'm more of the monkey see monkey do type of learner.
Give it a good ponder and discuss it with Philip.
