Me too. Sorry I didn't comment on this earlier. It's frustrating to see this and not be able to get to a stream right away. That chocolate fly is especially well done. Some of your best pics too, except the picnic table pics. I'm partial to those.

Ray, did you ever try using some UV material for the bubble back? Just curious how the fish would like them that way. In talking with Jim Slattery some time back, he mentioned that when insects emerge, there are some UV spots on the body. That could make a difference.

Ron - I have never tried UV materials in this series. Great idea. You've now got me curious to know if anyone sells UV treated antron fibre. Is there a way of treating materials at home, to make them UV?

Thanks Hank. Yes. I was forgetting FTD had UV fibers. These may be the only materials I have not tried from his site. Yet... :D ;)

I don't know about UV Antron Ray but there is a lot of UV fiber that is very fine diameter sold for Saltwater tying in just about any color you want. Steve Farrar's SF UV flash blend would be perfect for this. EP fibers probably come in UV but the SF is a little finer diameter. FTD might have some as well. I have thought about blending it with dubbing.

Ray, I was tying the Three Dollar Dip in Montana, using a scud hook, small black bead and a wing of UV fibers. It was a killer.

Ray must have channeled his inner LaFontaine when coming up with this pattern.
