Four Bird Soft Hackle
Hook - Mustad Model R70 / Size 10
Thread - Black UNI-Thread (6/0)
Hackle - Starling
Rib - Amber Ultra Wire (small)
Body - Two Turkey Tail Fibers (nice long ones)
Tail/Back - Ringneck Pheasant Tail (dyed brown)
Thorax - Peacock Herl
Wing Case - Ringneck Pheasant Tail (pulled forward and tyed down over the thorax)
Head - Thread

(materials are listed in the order they are tyed onto the hook)

Good catch, willow. This is especially nice. I tie some nymph patterns with the herl but...and this is a nice variation on that style.

Another nice one Ray. Like the Starling hackle - bet it looks real good in the water.

Thanks guys. This is one of the patterns I posted on the Flymph Forum 1.0 (before we moved to this new version).

Mark (willowhead) - you must have gone through all of the patterns on this site. You've found some of the patterns I copied over to this new and improved forum.

No, not all, by a long shot.....but i plan to.....over time. Looked at the u-tube vid. of this tye.....sucks there's no sound. Still, very nice indeed. ;)

There never was any sound in the video. It is just a slideshow illustrating the tying steps. It was my way of learning the capabilities of the Google's Picasa software. When Google added the ability to combined photos into a video presentation, I had to try it out. I love learning to use new software.
