Bill - I took the liberty of editing the title of your initial post and then adding reference to the SBS/Tutorial. I added a link to your fly in the reference section of the forum. Your fly is at the top of the list.

I'm having a devil of the time trying to thread the krystal flash through the tubing...I resorted to xsmall wire. I am going to the fly shop later today to get more midge tubing. I tyed a few flys, but I need a bit more practice before I post a pic.

I am not going to get to the flyshop this weekend so heres a pic of my version of the Green caddis. I need a little practice on these. I didnt have the Sulky thread so I used Chartreuse thread. Also, I colored the thread Brown with a Sharpie to form the head.

HOOK- DAI-RIKI 135 size16
THREAD/UNDERBODY- UNI-8/0 CHARTREUSE
ABDOMEN- CLEAR MIDGE TUBING WITH GREEN COPPER WIRE INSERTED
THORAX- PEACOCK HERL
COLLAR- HEN CAPE (FURNACE)

The combination of your "substitute" materials is at least as effective as anything previously posted, Wayne, and I would be amazed if that rascal of yours doesn't cause a lot of sore lips out in your neck of the woods ;) .

Damn, it is fun watching this post unfold. Wayne, this is an excellent rendition of Bill's fly. I like the idea of the copper core. I plan on copying these flies as soon as I can find my midge tubing. I know I have some buried in my desk someplace, but I have been unable to dig it up. I tried to find it last night, but it has alluded me (sad face). Hmmm...maybe it is in one of my bins.
