Excellent fly Rodger. Could you tye the same fly with each thread and post them for comparison. I am interested to see how changing the thread color affects the appearance of the dubbed abdomen.

Question - Did you wrap the touch dubbed thread backwards then forwards, or did you only wrap it forward from the bend? I am guessing the latter, since the abdomen looks very slender.

Thanks Ray.
I put down a base layer of thread, eye to bend, then wrapped the dubbed thread back to the eye. I'll try to get some tied with the different color threads soon, but I have meetings each evening thru Friday, so I may not be able to devote much time to the vise.
I'm likin' the Griffith thread a lot. Have most of my bobbins spooled with it.
Find it's really good for small parachute patterns (did I say that out loud?)

Really Rodger? Retirement is just around the corner. Time to realize that we are your priority now, not your job.

I am liking these patterns and photos very much. Cant wait to see the other colors aswell.

Great looking slender fly, I like the soft glow of orange in the abdomen.

These parachute flies...... do you use a foam post? :P :D

That's a real beauty, C.C. The abdomen shape is very realistic, and the color combinations are just right.

Rodger I'm glad you're enjoying the Griffiths. I recently picked up this orange as well and it is intense. Thus turned out very well. Love the combo.

The fly is a standard to me, just a beautiful work horse. Everyone should have some just like these, in their box!
