Could you please enlighten me about the vane? A little Google search wasn't much help.

Simply indicates the short section of flash which I folded back over the thorax.

Only reason the vane is there is to add a bit more 'glint'. To please me, if not the trout :twisted:

My little perchy friends (bream) seem to like a little "attention getter". I think this will find its way into a few patterns. It should prove very profitable. Thank you.
