Still hopeful that our time in Roscoe will coincide with a Green Drake hatch, I have taken the liberty of poaching Sylvester Nemes' Green Drake Soft Hackle pattern and "easternized" it by making the body more yellow than was his version. Nemes' premise was that the extra hackle volume, especially with the stiffer cock hackle propping it up, would help keep this larger fly near the top of the water column.
Hook: Mustad 3906B, Size #10
Thread: Uni 8/0, Camel
Hackles: Two dyed olive partridge neck feathers over a gold-tipped badger cock hackle
Tail: Three moose body hairs
Rib: Dull finish gold wire
Body: Blend of European hare dyed olive (thinks to Ruard) and Hareline Dubbin Antique Gold #28
