Mike, as soon as the Piscataquis water levels drop a bit I'll be tossing a purple fly at the local Brookies, just to see if they like it as much as Montana trout did.

I'm sure you'll do great with them. Alan over at Small stream Reflections just posted up a beautiful purple bodied soft hackle that produces well for him. I don't know why I have such an aversion to purple, I need to get passed it; it certainly produces well for others.
