French Partridge and Ash

Oh boy -- I'm on a roll now! Going through the pile of leftover/"too big" feathers on my tying table and matching them up with thread that I think looks good with them. This hackle is from a French Partridge upper back feather, tied on a #18 dry fly hook with Pearsall's Gossamer #10 ash silk.

8-) This would fish very well on some midge hatches I have encountered!

Dang Bill,
You really are on a roll! This one looks really cool esp. the French Partridge (which is always a great looking hackle!) against the subtle hue of the ash silk! Well done Bill. You realize that you have probably set the hackle producers back a few years with everyone recycling their old skins and finding new uses for larger hackle. This is not a bad thing!
