Your wraps are spot on, and your proportions perfect. Well done sir.

That's gorgeous, Carl.

Beautiful, Carl. Nice and clean, excellent tie.

Mighty Purity!
So, is this pattern for show or go? Curious since blue works well for bass and wondered if trout like blue too?

Thanks all!
This is all the way for go.

I know blue works quite well at times for trout with dries. There are a couple blue pattern wingless wets I know of: the Blue Donegal and Blue Bottle which I have had various degrees of success with. I wanted to tie up a darker blue small spider pattern to try. Blue does seem to work better on bright days for me, but I haven't fished blue enough to make any conclusions.

Carl - I am puzzled by the name (Abyss). Could you explain?
(superb dressing, btw. The dun-dyed partridge is a lovely touch.)

Nothing in the name. Just useful in posting. Ocean abyssal zone/ dark blue?
I was going to just name it "a dark blue spider" but what fun is that

Hi Carl;
I immediately thought of the movie "the abyss" thus being blue made sense for me.
Now, to plagiarize and copy in a similar silk color.
