Phone tests

Flyfud1 (Charlie) and his size 22 BWO was so impressive, I decided to play with my Android camera.

I need to set up another box studio for my camera, or use sunlight with the phone.

It does not look like my house will sell in the near future, so I may build a new box/studio this weekend. Besides, the Denver Broncos already played this week

That is some serious magnification, Wayne. When you get done experimenting with lights and such, you will be producing wonderful stuff.

Size 24, Grizzly and Olive SH.
I am going to look in to getting the macro lens, and try to figure out a way to shoot photos with a rest. This was free hand.

I have the Motorola Droid Turbo. The dang thing has a 21megapixel camera on it. More than double my DSLR.
It takes nice pictures, but I haven't tried fly pics, yet. Maybe later tonight, just for a test.
Looking at what you posted, the macro lenses may be gilding the lily. Those are some nice shots.

Pretty good results Wayne.
If you are going to head to the "bay" for a clip on or magnetic macro, I would strongly suggest looking at the gorilla pod like tripods they have for smart phones. Flexible legs that will bend to most any shape you want and a simple sliding pressure clamp for your phone case. Nod a screw on dedicated tripod, but for table top work it will sure take the shakes out of play a bit more than hand held.

Making progress.

I believe I will try this on a White stone when I find one.

Creative guys like you, Wayne, with your "devices" and ingenuity, are making cameras per se obsolete. This photo is proof of that.
