Simple stuff; on larger sizes, ostrich might make a better rib.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #14
thread - Danville 6/0 black
body - UTC medium wire olive
rib - pheasant tail
hackle - hen black

ScottP, Howdy;

Beautiful Caddis. How do you reinforce the peacock fibers, or not ?

This really is a cool pattern. I wondered about the durability of the rib as well, but then, sometimes one fly per fish is fine too. You could wipe the body with head cement or superglue before wrapping. You might have, I can't tell. It's a nice effect.

Thanks. I brush Sally on the wire before I wrap the pheasant tail fiber rib; any of the UV products would probably work, as well.

You could also leave a long tag and make a rope to wrap forward.

"Rope to wrap forward." Kinda rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? :lol:
