A Kiwi pattern of note; looks like a Babine Special put away wet.

hook - Mustad 3906 #4
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - red fox squirrel tail
body - chenille orange (2 segments)
hackle - hen brown

Nice, Scott. Have you tried a Scotch Poacher? Pretty straight forward dressing with a Pukeko style wing. I may have a pic somewhere.

In the process right now. Don't have any pukeko feathers, but found some woodduck that's a bit darker blue; that should do.

Best you call that on a "Scott's Poacher" or at least mention it is a variation. There is no substitute for genuine Pukeko. ;)

I'm a huge fan of the Kiwi patterns like this. I first got interested in them while looking at Johnno's flies on another site many years ago.

Here's the Scotch Poacher variation I came up with. The woodduck worked okay for the wing, but it's not quite right.
