Thread: Uni 8/0 Chartreuse
Silk: Persall's light olive
Dubbing: Nature's Spirit Emergence Dubbing, cream color spun on silk using a Clark dubbing block
Hackle: Partridge

Very nicely tied. Those look a lot like what Blue Ribbon Flies suggests for the Firehole. Rendezvous was there in June in 2014 and we killed with similar patterns.

Nicely done. I like this combination. The "Emergence" dubbing is new to me, but it really looks great on this pattern. Man, I'd love to be fishing that hatch next month. Have a great time.

Post the results of how your white miller soft hackles do. We were further up on the Firehole and had a mixed hatch of PMDs and white millers. I couldn't figure out which the fish wanted so fished a two fly rig of both.

Post the results of how your white miller soft hackles do. We were further up on the Firehole and had a mixed hatch of PMDs and white millers. I couldn't figure out which the fish wanted so fished a two fly rig of both.

Very often -- very, very often -- on both the Firehole and upper Madison, you'll get simultaneous emergences of the PMDs and the caddis, and the maddening thing (just to keep it all interesting) is I've seen the fish focus on PMD spinners (almost invisible in the biomass on the water) at the same time. When that happens you can go through a helluva lotta tippet in a very short period. Sometimes I just go home and fish the "easy" Henry's Fork.
