Just over a week ago I was tying flies at the 2017 FFI International Fly Fishing Fair in Livingston Montana. A discussion over the vise with another tyer about the Yellowstone rIver lead to a fly that worked well for him the evening before under the 9th Street Bridge. He had been using a Pheasant Tail Nymph. So I decided to tie up a new PT soft hackle at the show to try along with some AP pheasant tails.
Hook- Dai Riki 070 #16
Thread-UTC 70 Rusty Brown
Tail and Body- Pheasant Tail

I'm not normally a fan of bright, shiny hooks, but this one looks just right for some reason. Great idea Mr. Bill and very nicely tied.

Very nice! I like the proportions, color scheme (PT & S are a great combo) and durability. Looks like a "workhorse" pattern (sincere compliment).
