Did another article today for our local TU Chapter's monthly newsletter and in going through some old pics, I found a scanned pic of a Pheasant Tail & Golden Plover fly that I tied back in 2009. Haven't tied any more of these since then but will have to add it to "The List" for tying this winter.

Hook – Daiichi 1550 or Mustad 3906 wet fly hook (sizes 12 – 16)
Thread – Pearsall Gold Gossamer silk (#6a)
Body – 3 to 5 pheasant tail fibers (depending on hook size)
Thorax – Hare’s Ear
Ribbing – Uni – Small or Extra Small gold colored wire
Hackle – 3 to 4 turns of Golden Plover

That is a great pattern! I need to add some of these to my box soon.

Would you be willing to share your article with us, after it has been published? I would be very interested in reading it.

Great fly! Your flies are giving me motivation to brave the bitter cold and buy a new lamp for my fly tying desk. The effect of the golden plover is very life-like and a hackle not in my inventory.
