A simple softy...
Olive and Grouse
- Hook: Mustad R50 #14
- Thread: Pearsall's Olive Green
- Rib: Copper wire - Lagurtun's extra fine
- Hackle: Grouse cape feather - stripped
A simple pattern suitable for any olive mayfly imitation. The hackle is tied with open wraps to minimize the fibres marrying in the water.
I'm beginning to get a new appreciation for grouse.

That's a great looking softie. I like the tone of that silk. I dont think i have that one. Beautifully tied.

Very nicely tied, to fool a trout with such a seemingly simple fly is a great test of skill in the tying and the fishing.
