No, not tonight. Instead I'm going to be thrashing out a few simple streamers on the Norvise. Walleye have been added as a species for the next set of Canadian nationals, so I need to "fluff" up my stillwater boxes a bit. That said, one possible attendee was asking about soft hackles--I may have to introduce him to the dark arts :twisted:

Aaron - just an addition. Wonderful fly buy the way. Have you tried working with ostrich herl. I tie an almost identical pattern for damsels and use ostrich herl for the tail and body. I usually wrap with 3 strands of herl and use about 3-5 tips for the tail. It should give you a smaller build up. I think both of your flies look great, however I do understand the desire you have to get it just the way you want.
