Nessie Flymph

Post by Johnno » Sat Apr 14, 2018 5:18 am

Designed to imitate one of our local mayflies, Nesameletus ornatus, aka the Nessie...

Hook is a 12 94840, thread of olive silk, tail of natural mottled grey Coq de Leon hen saddle, hackle of mottled grey CdL hen and body of touch dubbed grey rabbit and mohair

Nothing special but seems to work on occasion....

Johnno ~ Well done! Looking at a photo of a "Nessie" I can easily see how your pattern would work quite well.

Johnno,

Very nice fly. I'm guessing that's a Mustad 94842? A 94840 isn't an up-eye.

Regards,
Scott

Johnno, that could pass for a number of our local mayflies as well. Very nice, sparse flymph pattern.

John,
Wow"! Great looking pattern for sure! It is "insectness" and that is a good thing! You do really good work at the vice and I always like seeing what you have to offer! This one is no exception! It is great!
