PT & Dark Hare's Ear Blend SH Nymphs

Post by joaniebo » Sat Dec 01, 2018 9:36 am

The Pink Squirrel Nymph is a mixture of various materials and I've often used the same materials but substituting a different fur for the grey squirrel fur and tied a few different soft hackles and nymphs like these.

Sure do look buggy, Bob. Nice!

These look like killing baits. Well done spidering. I tie a very similar one, mixing a bit of Hareline UV Pink Shrimp dub with the hares mask, & that one is a staple in the warm months.

I'm sure those are killer. I use to mix ice dubbing into natural furs for dubbing. Very effective.

It was a hen furnace with black near the stem with lighter tannish / honey color tips.

The dubbing I used was a variation of the Pink Squirrel nymph dubbing. Drop me a pm with your name and address and I’ll mail some of the dubbing to you.

Thanks for the info on the hackle. The dark center (list) and fade to tan tips, really suits this pattern. Excellent choice.
