Something with flash

Post by Stendalen » Mon Jan 14, 2019 3:11 pm

Have not tied so many flies I've done the last two weeks in years...well I dont really need to since al boxes are full anyway. Fun to realise that the muscle memory is still there...though I had to buy +3.5 reading glasses yesterday :D

Really got into producing patterns now and I tend to tie series when I come up with some idea. Get the right colour combinations and hook size and overall construction. Painting the canvas.

Pearsalls for the body, copper or gold rib, flash in the thorax, partridge in various colours (or brown whiting hen). Hook is Partridge 200R size 16

That is a fine selection of well tied flies, Martin. I would say that your layoff at the vise has done nothing to lessen your tying skills :) .

I have certainly enjoyed your resurgence at the vise Martin. You have not missed a beat.

I understand the reading glasses. I have had to use them for about 9 years now. Had great vision, then all of a sudden as soon as I turned 40 it started to go down hill. I think I use 2.5 now.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
