A two pint respite? Nice! I like your style. After the second pint I'd be happy chucking a bass plug. Drowning a couple of cans (they're lighter to pack out than glass) in the stream is about as civilized as we get here.

Blue wing olives catch a lot of fish for me throughout the year, from size 12 for cornutas, down to size 26 for the tiny bateids. Here are the size 12’s I use most often.....

Nice flies Dana. I don’t care for cdc much, to fragile when I’m thrashing the water.

Here is one of my go to BWOs...

My Owyhee Spider is basically a Stewart Spider with Olive thread on a #16 or 18 scud hook tied with 2 strands of Root Beer Krystal Flash as a shuck.It has performed well for me on many waters!

That's a fabulous looking fly. I may have to tie some up myself. What's the hackle?

I don't either, for the same reason, but sometimes when I really want to catch just one fish -- either because it's a nice fish or I just want to avoid a skunk, the CdC will come out.

I love it on wets, however.

I'd fish any of the flies Dana posted.

Roadkill Bill - great BWO pattern. The construction reminds me of a Stewart’s spider, with an emerger trailing schuck. Brilliant. ;)
