Dark Hendrickson Flymph

Post by Old Hat » Thu Sep 12, 2019 6:38 pm

I've been working through some dark Hendrickson flymphs patterns lately. Different combinations of dubbing and such. I've settled on this one I believe.

Claret silk
Dark brassy dun hackle
Reddish copper wire rib
Bronze mallard tail
Abdomen of 50/50 muskrat and hare's poll
Thorax of 50/50 muskrat and hare's ear with a pinch of claret mohair

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Thanks guys. Actually tying a lot lately. I have been tying orders for some and working on a couple projects.

Thanks Alan, The appeal of the flymph design. Liveliness.

Gorgeous. That's all I can say.

I love that bronze mallard tail color. Every time I try to get something similar my attempts wind up more toward the orange side. Beautiful fly, thanks for showing it to us.
