Tip - Flat gold tinsel
Thread - Black
Ribbing - Flat gold tinsel
Body - Dark hare’s ear fur
Hackle - Brown

The Sanctuary is like a soft-hackle version of the Gold-ribbed Hare’s Ear.

Looks like a perfect spring creek cressbug pattern. Nice!

A great pattern, simple and effective. I started tying these right away after getting my first copy of Bergman's "Trout". Once upon a time I went through "Trout" and tied all the wingless patterns. Many are what I would call a "fufu pattern" (fancy little attractors) but this pattern is one that I still tie and fish.

I tie mostly on Mustad hooks as well. Doesn't mean you are cheap, only that you like a classic look, enjoy effectiveness and are wise. ;)
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Norm - Your answer really surprised me. I was expecting an answer you to say several coats of head cement. I’m impressed with the results, and now intrigued to try this resin.

Ray, Try it, you'll like it.
