The dressing is Hidy's tups blend. Pink and Yellow wool with a pinch of hare's cheek. I use mohair wool. Tied with primrose silk and this fly uses a blue dun hackle. I actually prefer a light rusty dun or honey dun hackle.

Its not exact. 50/50 pink and yellow mohair wool with a small amount of hare's cheek added. The mohair is hard to mix fluidly so some flies will be a little more yellow and some a little more pink. But yes, when you mix pink and yellow you will get orange. Basic color wheel.

No loop wing. All water bubble. The fly in the photo is submerged in water. You can barely see the reflection at the water's surface near the top.

That's as perfect a fly as I'll ever see. Well done, Carl.

See what you missed. That was about the only class I enjoyed.

Carl - You should share the photo with Lance. The photo and the Gunnar illustration might make a nice addition to the new edition of the Leisenring/Hidy book. Taken together, they show the ongoing fascination in flymphs.

Well done. ;)
