The subject line of this topic raises a question about my assumptions:

Is it pronounced PENN 'l or p' NELL? (Sorry for the apostrophe; this keyboard seems to lack a schwa key.)

The former, in Black Pennell.

In my caricature the intended word play also allows for/invites p' NELL-ized 8-)

Oh, good. My original assumption was correct; your word play made me realize that a second pronunciation was possible.
