That hook is a Partridge Grey Shadow Emerger GRS 12ST size 18 but to me it seems more like a 16.

Tom,

He has the same pattern listed on page 122 in his book, Wet-Fly Tying and Fishing. He should
have had you tie the fly and take the picture he used in the book!

Fantastic looking fly!

I have really enjoyed tying and fishing with Partridge hooks. I think I'll try this pattern on a Partridge Patriot Series hook. I believe they have one similar to the hook you used.

Immaculate dressing. Well done.

I was guessing the hook size was a 14, by the detail in the photo. I was surprised to read this is a size 18 hook. The long curved shank is deceiving.

IMHO W.S. Roger Fogg’s book titled THE ART OF THE WET FLY is also a wealth of information.In the book Fogg gives us many other classic patterns and methods to fish them.
