Morus silk thread

Post by NightWatchman » Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:25 pm

Got a few spools of Morus gossamer silk in the mail yesterday and tied up a few “Snipe & Purples” tonight. I was pleased with it.

Very nice. What other colors did you buy?

letumgo,

Hot orange and primrose. I have Pearsall’s but I wanted to check this out so
I could decided whether to recommend it to people who want to give the
classics a try. I think I would recommend it though I haven’t tied a lot with it
But the little I have I find it quite similar to Pearsall’s.

It looks great! The color is a strong shade and personally I like that.

Yes, please, as soon as you tie some more and get a good evaluation on the silk, let us know more of what you think.

Very nice, NightWatchman! We are fortunate that Morus picked up the ball and ran with it once Pearsalls closed down shop. Personally I like flies tied with silk as I think it is a better job all the way around.
