That is a brilliant looking blue and it goes well with the black bird hackle. I'd like to tie that fly but I have never had any luck at all with fishing anything that's blue.
Now purple, that's another story.

Thanks Fishnkilts. I don’t know if it’ll be a productive pattern either. I
was just curious about how the blackbird covert feather would look on
hook. So I thought of something black and something blue. We’ll see.

I hope it does well for you, and I'm sure it will.
The blackbird hackle looks top notch on the hook. I like how it stands out by not having too much hackle bunching up. I think it's perfect all the way around.
