leftovers
All material was dug out of my waste bin on my work station, except for the hook and thread
Hook, TMC 5263 size 8
thread, UNI white 8/0
tail, left over saddle hackle fibers
rib, flashabou found a good size piece, can't really see in pic, need better camera
body, soft fibers from the bottom of chartreuse, blue, and yellow saddle hackles
wound in a thread dubbing loop and trimmed
hackle, chartreuse saddle and dark olive hen, all were the bottom pieces of a feather I had trimmed and already used the tops

Are you sure that's leftovers? I don't remember any of my "leftovers" flies looking like that!

Works for me! Really like the hackle combination.

Re: leftovers
thank you everyone for the kind words. I thought it would be a good way to get the creative juices flowing and I did have some good stuff in my waste bin. Was there ever a time when the tier did try and use most of the feather, kind of like how the American Indian used all parts of the animal that was hunted?

Re: leftovers
Fishhead,
It takes me a long time to fill my wastebin as I try to squeeze every bit of use from a material, no matter what it is. My wife teases me about being cheap, I just say I'm frugal.
I can't remember having anything in a wastebin that was even remotely usable.
