Dub-Ya, Howdy;

Now I may be about 1/2 step out of sync. with the rest of humanity but the last pic you posted looks like the top (undersie up),
only "flipped" into the position that we are used to seeing pic's posted.

Dub-Ya, Dub-Ya, Dub-Ya .....

michaelgmcgraw, Howdy;

The second "missing" photo is where I quoted Dub-Ya, so it only "appears" to be missing...... ;)

Okay, so I posted the pic of the fly, rightside up and noted the dubbing blend. Dennis pointed out that a fly by Roy would likely have the point of the hook on top and the hackle wrapped around the bend. So..I thought it would be slightly humorous to repost the pic just flipped upside down, and the fly might have a more Roy like presentation, knowing that the fly would not actually fish upside down or make any difference because it is tied in the round...and has a straight eye to boot. Sadly, when I made a copy of the pic in photobucket, the link was broken so both pics did not show up and I could no edit the initial post. Sorry for the confusion. It would have been mildly funny if the post had worked, but it turned out to only be confusing. Sorry. :oops:

Ray, I would gladly share the mix, if I could. I have mixed a few blends in a few bags for color and texture made of different materials. I took two of those bags and mixed them together and also picked up a pinch of something that was on my tying station. Never to be replicated I'm sure.

Dub-Ya, Howdy;

Didn't mean for ya to feel bad about it. I was (I suppose I should have made a stronger indication), chuckling when I made the comment.

Some times we forget to subtlities of face to face are not conveyed in this electronic communications enviroment. I feel badly that the humor
wasn't conveyed ... Should have put a smilely after the Dub-Ya X 3 line (ie. :roll: ), or a "tisk-tisk-tisk (shake of head smiley)"

:cry: thought everyone on here knew I attempt to see the humor in each sitution. ;) Life is too short to not look for the funny side of things...

William,

I also got your joke and thought it funny. There may be those who are not familiar enough with Roy's dressings to get it.

Howdy All;

I don't know nor am I aquanted with "Roy's" Flys....

Mearly took notice the the holder for the fly was commin' in from the top instead of the bottom. Struck me as odd
and remembered some that were tyed and shown last fall that were upside down or down side up, whichever way
one chooses to look upon them.

I just think they're ALL neat, and am constantly amazed by how the use of a few materials can make such HUGE beauty
pointy end up or down...

Hank, you'll have to check out his flies. He has a unique eye and a real talent. I've always admired his fly designs, but I particularly enjoy his combinations of materials, color blends and tones, in a non-fussy kind of way, that I think makes for a very life-like impression. (and I knew the tone of your post was sporting humor.)
