Peacock Attractor
Hook: Sawada wide gape sproat #14
Thread: Bennichi olive
Tail: Filoplume from a black strung saddle feather
Body: Peacock sword
Rib: Fine gold wire
Hackle: Small peacock neck feather
I tied up a bunch of these in sizes 10 and 12 and used longer shank hooks since most of these neck feathers are really large. There were just a couple of small feathers in the bag so I tied this one up. Some of the other ones have either yellow grizzly, or olive grizzly marabou for the tail with a couple pieces of red and root beer crystal flash on either side. I like using the green colored neck feathers since I think they fish better, but the blue is real nice to look at too.
Regards,
Mark

Mark,
Nice one
A friend in Oregon used to tie and fish a very similar pattern, she called Blue Death. It worked very well for her on some of the lakes she fished in her state.
Cheers,
Hans W

Nice fly. I can attest to the fact that peacock bodies and blue peacock hackles do very well on lakes here in Oregon and also the Kamloops area of BC.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
