How come there is no engrained dirt in that fingerprint?
Oh.... wait, there is a fly there as well! Wonderful stuff. I am guessing that feather came from way up on your donor Starling neck? What kind of hackle pliers did you use?
#32...... WOW!

Given your extensive Tenkara knowledge you will also know the Japanese are very good at these tiny flies, is this where some of the inspiration came from?

I would have enough trouble picking up a #32 hook, let alone tying on one.

Not only is that tiny, but it is also perfectly proportioned with a flawless head. You are the man, Chris!

That's amazing! I have never even seen a #32 hook in person.
There may have been one there, but I didn't see it. lol

I have tied and fished with #22 and caught bluegill and baby bass. I was worried about the fine wire hooks straightening out, but they buried up to the bend, which meant a straight pull.
The only issue I have had with the small sizes is getting them out of the fish. It is difficult to get under them to push them free. I tore the hackle off of a couple of them trying to release the fish.
