Bill, it's an excellent example. I still like that it has a name. =). It's pheasant tail and partridge....no name required really, and how could it miss?

This is tied on a #14 Daiichi 1550, Hank, and the only difference between it and the recipe is that the partridge is probably a bit more brown on mine. I have since dug out a partridge skin with more distinctly grey neck feathers and will tie some using those to see if the fish care.
William, you are right of course about the primary materials; the differences (flat body wraps and silver rib) are minimal.

I have often, actually more than just often, seen this tied with a red wire ribbing as well and with a gold or copper beadhead.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
