Originally tied by Lacey Gee, founder of Wapsi Fly, some time in the late 40's-early 50's (unsure if this fly inspired Tarantino). Weighted underbody is optional.

hook - Dai Riki 060 #12
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - hen hackle fibers dun
body - hare's ear dubbing
wing - pheasant aftershafts
hackle - hen dun

mash barb, start thread one eye width back from eye, wrap back to bend

strip some hackle fibers, measure (shank); tie in/trim butts

dub thread/dub body up to tie-in

prep 2 aftershaft feathers; measure (halfway back on tail), tie in one on top of the other, trim butts

prep hen hackle, tie in by tip; sweep back while wrapping

As usual, really well done, Scott. I think perhaps I will tie that in a Size #16 or #18 without a tail and fish it as a caddis.

Nice one! I'll have to try to get a couple of these tied up tonight.

This pattern has always been on my tying list but I continue to pass it by. I need to get some tied up. Thanks for the kick Scott.
