Beautiful! Love it that you use quills on these. And the last fly is really intriguing, have you tried it on trout yet?

Thanks Martin,
The last fly is a work in progress/experiment that hasn't been for a swim yet! Thought was to use the aftershaft feather in a dubbing loop as a kind of attractor hot spot that looks natural rather than a bright colour, maximum contrast. Also thought the human masses like soft serve ice cream why not trout? :P

My lighting setup for these shots is simple. One cheap office desk lamp with a daylight balanced bulb (my tying light)
The reflective surface the flies sit on is an old now dead cellphone. Some crinkled up aluminium foil to reflect some light back into the subject where needed. Photos are shot on my DSLR with 105mm macro lens hand held because I can't be bothered faffing about with a tripod, about as efficient as I can get the process. Mind you I do turn blue in the face sometimes trying to brace my arms holding my breath and slowly moving back and forwards to get the focus where I want it...

Far too long, Karsten. Your keen wit and superior tying are something that benefits the forum enormously, so please don't stray again.
