Kreft is a very good tyer and shares a lot of info on his blog. Plus, he is just a really nice man and gives back to the community in many ways. Pretty well known around here for fishing a river with no fish...the Metolius. How he continues to catch fish there is amazing.

I have tied and fished Polly’s flies for years.
My favorite is the casual dress.

I have all four volumes of his fuzzy nymphs book. I spent a lot of time gathering his original materials on eBay. I have most everything but perhaps a couple of things. Thanks for the article Barry!

Yes. John Kreft’s blog is well worth reading. He is a mine of useful information on fishing the west.
Polly Rosberg has some terrific patterns, love all of them particularly for steelhead. My boxes are now pretty full so it’s time to get some more. I think I need a large box for the boat.
I fished today with a friend and we did well on a Birds Nest. Lots of different flies hatching on the Lower Sacramento River and a very warm day. Just great to be out there just rowing my drift boat
