Ruard, i'm so happy for you. Wales is a dream for me.........please have a wonderful & safe trip and enjoy the fishing. Your flies are soulful Bro. Almost make me cry........such compassionet work, very much shows your love of the fish. And let me know if your fortunate enough to run across any Tawnney(sp?) Owl while there.

Beautiful flies Ruard. I'm particularly drawn to the first. I really like that technique of twisting and wrapping the barbs for the body.

How much of Wales are you planning to see? Lots of pictures please. Dave and I have been discussing a trip to Scotland but I'm sure it's not happening this year. Gotta save some cash for it. I would like to rent a car and visit the Cumbria, Yorkshire area when we go. Maybe next year.

Glad you are back to the forum Willow. I wish I had the skin of an Owl but the only way is to find a raodkill and there are enough substitutes for that. I am more happy if there are no roadkill's of any Owl.

Thank you all for the nice words. I can imagine that you are envy , i am very happy that I have the opportunity to fish in my own country (now there is snow and ice no fishing at all, but skating) and one or two times a year in Germany or England or Wales. I am healthy enough to go and my wife does understand that I feel very happy when I can fish. Fishing with my son is something very special for me.

I sure shall shere the pictures with you.

We plan to visit the Wye and the Usk. It will be a fishtrip and then there will not too much time for being a tourist. When the river is like coffe with milk then touristing is the only opportunity.

Yorkshire is really beautiful on my site you can find pictures and the story . it is under holiday.

Ruard, i meant if you can find some Tawnney Owl in a fly shop in Wales........... So many of the Welsh patterns call for Tawnney Owl for the wing in the dressings.
