I have never heard the term foo foo flies until now. But my dad used to call foo foo dogs something like a poodle, or one that needed to go to a doggie hair dresser. I thought he was the only one that ever used that term. Now I use it on the rare occasion. Good to see it is used properly...rotfl. I think the fly looks great. It isn't foo foo extreme, but it would qualify as foo foo, in my honest opinion. So it is a fish getter, foo foo, and it is a definite winner. ( I am certain the fish would agree)

Bill, I got rid of my hen pheasant years ago. I am going to substitute Gambles Quail and see how that turns out. Also, I am going to try a couple with tan Ostritch in place of the peacock. Hopefully I will get them tyed tonight, and be able to try them out in the morning.

An adjective describing something that is very pretty or cute but has no real utilitarian value. Something that is nice to look at but serves no other purpose.

My thanks to all who commented. In studying this "macro" image a bit, I've decided that the hackle is a little too full, and I will probably strip one side of the feather on future versions. I think I will also slim down the body a tad.

That color combo and style should make this one a fish getter anywhere.

That was my second thought as well, after lifting my own jaw from the floor. I'm like Doug, this one just stopped me cold. I would imagine the mangle of legs and wings of this caddis might be about right. Nicely done, my friend.
