Fishing is freedom, and if some little Hitler wants to control what you do when you are fishing, then you might as well not bother anyway.........

PS. I have it on good authority that they didn't much like my catch returns either, as far as they believed them at all. I took a few members, who apparently never caught anything, fishing, ( yet another mistake it seems!), it seems to have upset some people more than somewhat that I catch a lot of fish! Once the obligatory few hundred stock fish ( which shouldn't be there at all, and which I don't target anyway,) are caught, it seems I am the only one who actually catches much at all. Just how it goes. No big deal................
Mike, this is fishing Germany in a nutshell. It is actually worse - regulations of various German states only allow for one "Anbiss-stelle" meaning one lure.

..... I moved to Norway by the way.

Mike,
You hit the nail on the head there so far as how many who become involved with angling organisations have little interest in the primary reason for why the club was formed. l have been involved in some serious arguments and disputes with the likes of that kind.
Much of this related also to how they see club funds should be used and other issues that really had nothing to do with fishing as such.
BS politics at the end of the day, power struggles, call it what you like, it amounts to the same thing.

Then often as not they wonder why others who would be way more beneficial to the organisation choose not to become involved, we then see a click of the minority of those who rule.

But one has to accept that in many cases if you do wish to fish given waters you have no choice but to join the organisation, and accept like it or not what the minority who are officers and committee decide.

Thats about right, had some run ins with them also when l lived in Chicago, little Hitlers.
I was not allowed to plant shrubs in my own yard, and l owned the dam house and property, that was just one of the reasons.
Then they sent me a ticket for a fine becuase l ignored them, told em to shove it you know where. Then while l was away they had this yard crew dig up my plants, jerks.
