i don't know what the hell got into me tonight.........but i've started a fly on the single most expensive hook i've ever bought. It's a Ron Reinhold William Bartleet E Victorian Finish Gold Lable 10/0. i paid $60 for it a year and a half ago, at the Ellensburg, WA. FFF show.....and i've been saving it.....for.....hell, i dunno.....which is exactly why i decided to just tye one on it. What the heck........i mean, if i drop dead or never wake up again.........at least i'll have made an attempt. i'm tryin' to go slow and get everything right.....it's a bitch.

So far, i'll i have is the tag (gold holographic), tail (3 CDC feathers, olive, green, & yellow), butts (yes there are two

), the main portion of the body (which is a bead), and the eye (gut provided by Feathers Mc).....later
4 hours into it, and now i have a sorta half throat/half Spey hackle type a deal which is made from the tip of an Argus Pheasent tail feather, the front portion of the body (which is five blended colors of Arizona dubbing), and some added Spey hackle Marabou type a deal.....now i'm workin' on the wing.....which i'm hoping will be a matched pair of Macaw feathers........we'll see. We need an icon with sweat drippin' off a forhead.........

Well, 6 hours into the fly and i have the wing on, and a crest over top of it.....once again (the crest), i used another tail feather tip from an Argus Pheasent.....currently i'm deciding wether or not to put cheeks on the fly, etc., etc.
Whew! 7 and a half hours since i started the fly and it's pretty much fnished.....i still have to do the head coats...........for whatever reason i left off any type of cheeks or sides or shoulders or any of that stuff. Just a very austear wing.....but i kinna like it like that. We'll see how the head comes out..........................major yawn...........
