Recipe
Hook - Mustad 79580
Thread - White Uni 6/0 for the abdomen, Camel 8/0 for the thorax
Tail - Yellow Goose Biots
Rib - Hot Yellow UTC wire medium
Abdomen - 30lb Mono tyed down the side. Midge Tubing Clear wrapped over
Thorax - Brown Synthetic Dubbing
Hackle - Brown Hen Hackle wrapped 2.5 times through
Rather than color the Midge Tubing, I colored the White thread. The top is brown and the bottom if Lt Green. When coloring the thread dont spend alot of time trying to make it perfect. The longer you color the White thread, the more it will bleed completely through the thread.

Saw this on your Photobucket collection, DUBBN -- a sure-fire catcher, I'd say. That's a special and valuable talent, being able to look at a photo of a bug and then create something to imitate it in a matter of minutes. Thank you for sharing it with us

Yes! to think...
We could have caught one of those critters on a river and sat down, stream side to do up a batch of flies! Match the hatch! Real Time!
As I always care a bag of tying gear / materials with on a trip, I have had a few such evenings, sitting at the camp table by lantern light, working up some strange bug pattern! There is a rush, for sure, the next day when it all comes together!
The greatness that happens here is that such adventures would not typically include so many folks from so many far away places! It could only be better by a gathering of the clan, fishing included!

Sounds like a good reason to travel and fish! Who's hosting this fest!
Dubbn! Again, fine tying!

Fine Job!
When I saw the post on Sunday Olives, I immediately thought stonefly. A little tweaking, and here it is. You nailed it.

Old Hat!
that's what I saw too! I have also been looking at some other flies that come close to what I was envisioning!
