Not to worry.....no need for sadness........with any luck, perhaps a little planning, and the Gods scheming as they've been known to do We'll be able to get back there and catch', play, & land a nice reptile or two. Preferably, they'll have fins on them.
That spot where the two vehichles are parked, looks like it's the spot right where we got in to cross over the North Branch and get on the other side to go up stream on the main stem. That was a pretty easy cross over spot. Btw, i got a question.....once your on the main stem there.........and you go up a ways to fish back down.....which bank do usually like to pound. i was out almost in the middle (not quite), pounding back to the near bank.....being the east bank.
Course, the opposite (grass is always greener) bank always has that....."well maybe i should" vibe to it. Just curious which bank you like best. i spose it should have everything to do with time of day, and keeping the sun at your back...........? But since we were fishin' mid day.....like 2 p.m.
i sure wanna fish with you.....i know you got "the Knack!" and i could learn a lot.

Yup! That would be a great day on some great lookin water. Ya oughta do it WH

Pardon me while I pick up my jaw off the den floor!! This post is fantastic! The pictures are just mouthwatering gorgeous. This is your home waters? You lucky duck! I was glad to hear of your success on my Blue Dun flymph and the Green Beasty! I feel honored that you did so well on my rough 'semblences of aquatic insects! Oh, to be at your elbow during this lovely day on the water. I could have learned alot! I was interested to hear how the popularity of the Green Beasty dropped off as the sun came up more and more! Do you think it was acting more as an attractor pattern more so than a close immitation of what was up and active at the time?
You must never get tired of fishing such beautiful and enticing water....do you?

Dougsdon, there is nothing wrong with the Beastie. It is the Gunnison Gorge, and Grey Flymphs have always produced the best for me in those waters. Check out my post on Whitefish. Your Beastie took some very large fish.
