I spent a lot of my time in NJ when I was stationed in Norfolk. I sure did get to travel a lot. I loved traveling around, and seeing some great spots, some historical spots, and some beautiful scenery too. I was on a sub tender, so I didn't get to see too much time on the water.

Kelly L. Howdy;

That was about the only sea duty they had for women back then.
The powers that be just authorized women on subs this year... :shock:
Bob Dylan said it when he wrote "The Times They Are a Changin' "

Did ya ever party at The Red Baron Inn ? Just off Va. Beach Blvd on
1st. Colonial Road... that's where I used to hang-out. :roll:

Right. I don't remember that place you mentioned. I was stationed at CincLantFleet. I spent some time on NOB first. Then I was in King's Bay, Georgia, then on to Pascagoula, MS. I went to boot camp in Orlando, Florida. I worked 12 hour shifts at CincLantFleet. I spent all my off time in New Jersey mostly. (I was engaged to a guy from there)

Cruel... :| but pretty close. I dated him for 5 years, we were engaged for about 3 years. Jealousy is what ruined it. Otherwise we'd still be together, I have no doubt.

That was a very long time ago Mark. I met someone five years after that, and got married. That lasted a little under 5 years. I have two beautiful kids, now grown. I gave up on meeting anyone. If it happens, it happens. If not, I am cool either way. At least now I get to do what I want, within reason. I get to tie flies, and fish. I don't have to justify my spending habits for my fly tying obsession. Oh, yes Wayne and I have been chatting in pm. I told him I wasn't gonna tie this time at the Sowbug. I probably will next time, if I like it enough to come. You know I am sure, I will LOVE IT....rotfl.
